The Maldives sits four hours from Dubai on a direct Emirates flight. There is effectively no time zone adjustment. You land, transfer to the resort, and begin. On return, you arrive in Dubai late enough to have had a full day at the resort and are back in your own timezone by evening.

Peak season
The Maldives' dry season aligns with the UAE winter, when Dubai temperatures are most comfortable. National Day in December and the new year period are the busiest travel windows. Book 6 to 9 months in advance for premium villa categories during this period.
Long weekend escapes
National Day (December 2), Eid Al Fitr, Eid Al Adha, and Islamic New Year all create four to seven day breaks that align perfectly with the four-hour direct flight. A Tuesday to Saturday long weekend in the Maldives is a format unique to Dubai-based clients.
Shoulder season value
June to August is school holiday season in the UAE. While the Maldives experiences its wet season during this period, rain is intermittent and the resorts are quieter. Some villa categories become available that are booked solid in peak season, and rates are lower across the board.

The Maldives issues a free 30-day visitor visa on arrival to all nationalities. There are no pre-arrival visa requirements for UAE residents or citizens of any nationality. A valid passport with at least six months' remaining validity is required.
The UAE National Day period in early December and the Eid holidays are the most popular long weekend windows. For a five-night trip departing Thursday and returning Tuesday, the four-hour direct flight means you effectively have four full resort days.
